Arthur thicken 13 Posted August 13, 2020 Anyone having problems with BCA Assured. Bought a 12 grand car front tyres listed as 5mm across the whole of the front tyres, turned up and both outside measurements were less than 2mm, sent a picture of the car with a digital tyre depth showing the measurement. Submitted the claim and got a reply 10 days later to say they wanted a video!! It's not practical to have cars sat around waiting for them to respond so prepped the car and kept the tyres as evidence. Still heard nothing back. Covid 19 has affected everyone but it's all you get from them, I have to say they were just as slow pre covid. This is just one instance of the service you get from BCA Assured, I've had loads of problems with BCA cars but get frustrated with being told, 'static check' or 'it doesnt change the grading'. That will be right,you are forced to pay for BCA Assured static inspections yet they want you to supply a video.I would send them a video of the tyres while putting them on notice that if they don’t meet your claim ,legal action in the Small Claims Court will follow. Same thing that happened to us Some cars have been advertised as 2 keys, and lord behold just the one - it doesn’t help as soon as your off site, they don’t entertain it. Photograph or record the sale if possible. Download assured and condition reports. Photograph auction sheet in 'Your Purchases' post purchase. Notify them immediately if a car arrives missing a spare key/service book/V5. Dont just email claims notify the auction and cc in auction manager and sales staff as well. If I buy a car with a spare key and it doesnt arrive then they are ordering me a new one or giving me the go ahead to get one organised. I can stomach the hassle of getting a new key coded. Theres no such thing as insurance that pays out easily so you have to get the facts to back your case and be persistent until you get satisfaction. On the baldy tyres, an insurance company could argue that you are sending them a random picture of another car. Pull out your phone take a 30 second video, full view of the car and reg "This is KK19OOO, purchased from BCA yesterday with an assured report stating 5-6mm across both front tyres". I work on the basis Grade 1 has to be 100% accurate in description. Grade 2 Max spend on prep £600, Grade 3, £1000, Grade 4 you are playing a lottery, some you win, some you lose. I have only ever bought one Grade 5 car, it ended up only needing £800 spent on it and made me my biggest ever profit. My worst ever was a grade 3 Volvo. It was a shed in every way and has ended up breaking my heart. Luckily it was sold to a very patient and reasonable customer. If I ever see it again, I am going to scrap it. I have just made my first BMW assured claim.. On a 2014, 24k mile BMW Z4 2.8 M Sport Auto. Grade 1 car, clean report. It makes a whistling noise in reverse gear ...like a turbo whistle. Has anyone heard of this? Spoke to a BMW specialist and they say the have seen it on other models but not a Z and it doesn’t cause any issues, but they have no idea what causes it. Whistling in reverse, as well as gear whine at low engine rpm in 1st and 2nd is a known issue. Around 2016 BMW began replacing these gearboxes under warranty (where a customer complained) with a modified transmission which has various internal redesigns, including different valve body and a coating applied to the planetary gearsets to reduce noise. Also the software is updated. I have no idea if the noise is harmful in the long term. I am wary of buying any BMW prior to 2016 with this box, unless I can drive it first. Gear/clutch test is 1st (Drive)/Reverse for 20m forwards then backwards at maximum 15mph. Be V. V. interesting to hear the outcome of this case. I am a sceptic when in comes to BCA. Before I bid on any car, or any auction in fact, I print and save the full details on the screen into a PDF file; then if there's any changes, I have a date/time stamped proof of what it said. I have a plug-in extension in my browser to convert any page into a PDF file, it's been very helpful when things go wrong - generally with the usual suspects.......
