car tax direct debit question

After a couple of years break being a car dealer selling from home. I am about to take the leap back into selling cars again I use to tax the car by the monthly direct debit scheme so I did not have to register the vehicle in my name, but looking at the dvla site it looks like you can only do it for 6 months now not monthly is the car is the trade.

Is that correct sorry for the long winded question and hope to join and learn form you guys as everyday is still a learning day for me still.

You can tax it using new owner part but pay by direct debit then you can cancel the direct debit and just register it to the customer.
