Hi

Just looking for a bit of help, now happy with the 12 ish photos I take, just wanting to improve the quality currently been using I phone, is there a camera anyone could recommend. Realistically doing it part time currently so don't want to be spending a fortune

Thanks Stephen

I have a Canon DSLR which cost me £400 but to be honest my Samsung s7 takes decent pictures.

It's about planning the pictures rather than just snapping away...position the car against a background or backdrop that makes it look attractive, make sure it is clean (especially glass) and tyres nicely dressed (I go for a Matt look rather than tyre paint!), start at the front then walk around getting all the flattering angles - low down always looks better than up high looking down.

Just take your time and realise you want to make the product look as attractive as possible to the buyers. Avoid filters though, I found out to my cost several times that whilst 'pretty', they give buyers the idea that the car is flawless or maybe a different shade of blue than what's in the picture etc...you get the idea.

I'm now into the idea of video walk arounds as per several other members, you get the chance to point out everything (flaws included) in a sympathetic way and I can see how it builds trust with buyers.

Cheers and good luck.

Got a lad in with a fancy camera to take pictures for us. Absolute nightmare at first as it really knocked us back in quality.

Iphone and Samsung were better as they auto adjust everything. With the fancy cameras you really need to spend considerable time editing to get it right, finally just about back up there now.

Video walkrounds are awesome.

iPhone good enough for me. It's more about getting the background & lighting correct.

Personally I don't like walkarounds, I think they look poncie & aren't required by 99.999% of buyers but I'm sure we'll all be doing them in 5 years.

iPhone or an Android.

Most importantly cloudy days for photos would be my only tip...bright sunshine kills a photo IMO

I've got a relatively cheap camera circa £100 ish - Point & Shoot - take some 'arty' pics - not too sunny days & no filters as mentioned - Video I feel is a must -but not silent movies :) a walk around with description - SELLS cars for me ....

I feel the more the merrier but do get carried away sometime up to 100 pics :) ! plus 360 interior and exterior spins !

Yeah think you could be right, but if you can do bugs bunny you've Gota to give it a go you will go viral and be a you tube sensation

think after trying to do this for a few month everything everyone said about it is true if not worse. Seems to be only trade where you need to have so many different skills it's unbelievable. But keep plodding along and see how it goes
