Sorry, hadn't been notified of replies.

Here's the original advert text. It lists contridictory MOT info, but it doesn't have 2 months or until 17/05/2018.

When does the failed MOT expire? Not that you are allowed to drive it with a failed MOT as the car is now deemed unroadworthy, it's just interesting to see if that's why he's worded it like that.

It expired at the start of June and would have been canceled by the fail at the end of May as I understand it anyway.

i would guess his originall plan was to put a years test on it, its had no interest so he's sold it as it is, your saving grace is the advert states a years mot, he will either have to test it or refund you

High Mr MG. - The seller is a dickhead,he thought he was being clever.You certainly can't advertise a lovely car etc,then sell it for spares or repair only (even if it was for £100).Firstly,ask the dealer for an explanation,then request a full refund,plus your expenses and tell them to collect it.
