Is there a new wave of petrol buyers coming from diesel jags maybe? Still not sure why an X Type would make big money...

I never expected it but those and S types are pretty good sellers.

Shame that they're put together like crap and you never hear the end of it after they're sold...

They must be getting bought by people who've never had to MOT one. 06 & 07 plates with holes in the sills so big you can get your fist in - as a former girlfriend used to say.

To be honest I'd of thought 11-14 yr old Jags would be making a few hundred quid but I guess not by your opening post.

I've only had a couple lately and generally swerve them for all the usual reasons, both came in chop and I could drive and inspect them pretty thoroughly.

They both sold very, very, very quickly and I didn't price them cheaply because they were both quite honest.

Demand seems to be there but surely no one in there right mind would buy one from the block??

one today at BCA 2006 x type 2.5 v6 sovereign 31k miles I think it was, cap clean £2,200 sold for £5,700.

I sold an X type 2.0d 2008 and that sold quick hence why i was looking.

I wouldn't of given "CAP rough as f***" never mind "CAP clean" for an 11 year old petrol Jag. Obviously the low-mileage-specialist buyer must know some lottery winner they can rape.

I suppose there are just as many guys that hunt down "hand picked specially selected beautiful low mileage" Jags as well as there are guys that hunt down "hand picked specially selected beautiful low mileage German performance saloons"?:D

I paid £140 for my s type 3.0 v6 from the block, stuck a private plate on and it looks the bee's knees. People get in and think its a Few ground of luxury motor,

Could do with a new caliper and some shocks soon though.

Haha, its interesting how conversations change. We started with X-Types which has now developed into a survey of the rat populations of the nations public houses

To be honest I'm surprised rats don't find nicer establishments to patronise - they always seem to like shitholes.

They say your never more than 6 foot away from a rat  well years ago we did a very foolish thing, we spotted one in our workshop, and then another [ thinking back it was the same one lol ]. We had a very smokey car at the time, oil burning scrapper fiesta i think it was, somebodies brainwave was to smoke em out [ mine  ] . Why not brick on accelarator to 3/4 then shut doors ? leave it for half hour, enjoy the day outside? Only thing we acheived was observing all the little holes in the roof from outside and we only just stopped neighbours from calling fire brigade :D:D
