Hello everyone. I am on this forum for a while so I decided to introduce myself and be more active on it. My name is Marian, 24, I trade cars for almost 2 years now (just a car or two a month). The hobby started to become something more important than my job, I love doing it and gives me moments of joy most of the time. There were moments when I lost money but I decided to keep going and now I am aiming for at least 10% profit on each car. Last year I made 7000 profit, not having trade insurance just buying the cars privately, paying day insurance and all the expenses before selling them. At the moment I just became BCA member and hopefully I will find time to actually go to Blackbushe and buy my 1st car from there. If all goes right my plan is to get trade plates and start small with some cheap cars and work hard to get more moments of joy and quit my day job. Thanks for your time reading this.

Good work, well done Nick,we just seem to struggle with them, but do ok on our boring stock,7/10 a week with similar profits,I guess its just what suits your business or how you set your stall out,its what weve always done and what you do.Lets hope we can all carry on taking our own slice of the pie.

I don’t sell much so-call prestige (ahem!) German stock but recently had an A6 that needed about 6 items attending too, an older 318 p/x with a stretched timing chain (thankfully moved on & it wiped its face) & have one of BMW’s 4x4s (my first, and my last) that has ‘issues’. All below average miles for age, all historied up. These krautmobiles are an absolute fucking disgrace. Get in a Honda with 150K on it & it runs like clockwork. Get in Germany’s finest at 100K and I’m waiting for the next light on the dashboard to illuminate.

If you wish to pay in cash there will be an additional charge of 2% of screen price to cover bank charges.

Infact.i said to my ageing mother the other day to spend some money on the house new bathroom etc so dad and her can enjoy there money .. on the other side of the coin I've seen lots of guys retire then detoriate so quick after words so guess there is a happy medium ..

You cant head for 10% in this job Marion , 5k car with 10% mark up wont pay the bills . , Advert bills , Mechanical work , Cleaning , Fuel to fetch it and test it , Insurance bills, that's just while your part time . Full time then the bills multiply quite considerably . VAT , Rent , Power , Services for the cars , MOT's , Repairs , Accountancy , Bank charges , and lots more . Then you will have more than 10% in costs to sell the car , There's no shame in profit when your working for yourself , Don't let this phase you though Marion , I made my daughter do it the hard way , Started with a £1,000 C2 , 1 earned a profit , then 1 became 2 , became 3 and so on and now shes into a 200k stock value and makes a good living that makes your Gas work look like a Saturday wage , I'm a cruel old fashioned type though . Get on with it , dont let anything get in your way and remember PROFIT is the key , don't be shy to hold your hand out and take the money because you will be working hard for it .

We use them, it’s OK value for money, plus they will take care of Facebook page etc. and do websites for you if required. They're part of the Newsquest group so it links with local press etc. Plus, remember (as mentioned on another thread) that people will google search and go from there nowadays, rather than necessarily going to a dedicated site. They work to try and push themselves up on the rankings and they’re fairly high up because it’s such an established company. They assign a free call tracker number to the ads, so when a punter calls, it announces it’s from X&M so you know it’s working. Or not About the same response as we get from Motors, so not brilliant but alright for the spend - it I wouldn’t want to pay more-and miles better value for leads than the Autotrader daylight robbery. We got our arm twisted to try it a few years back but on a 3 month trail.
